Ahoy folks, you may already be aware, we are once again welcoming hens to Undercliff; this time within the famework of an informal co-op, spreading the task of daily egg collection amongst several households.We’re getting 50 hens, so there will be plenty of eggs available after the co-op’s “daily-dozen” cut, to the extent that I’m interested in floating a subscription model.
This would look like a quarterly (3 month/13 week) commitment of £35.10 per 1/2 dozen weekly eggs (minimum 1/2 doz per week, but more if you’d like), representing a 10% discount on standard price i.e. £2.70 per 1/2 doz instead of £3. I will stock the egg collection box on Mondays 8am (collect Mon-Weds) and Thursdays 8am (collect Thurs-Sun), so you can choose which slot you’d prefer, and collect at your leisure. Collection would be at the Darlington wharf stall, in a number code locked box.
The subscription tenure starts once the hens reach full laying capacity, which should be mid to late April.As ever I will be raising them on organic pellets.You can commit to a quarterly subscription via the website (click here!), and choose to pay via the website payment portal, a BACs style bank transfer, or in person.
